Jenny Young, Head of Skills Strategy, Engineering Construction Industry Training Board
Jenny Young is regional Head of Skills Strategy for the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board, the statutory body that supports skills in processing and critical energy infrastructure industries.
Jenny studied Engineering at Cambridge University, with industrial sponsorship from GEC, before spending 24 years with BAE Systems, specialising in Systems Engineering. During that time she worked in technical and management roles in the avionics and radar businesses and tutored in Systems Engineering at the corporate management college. She developed a particular interest in the development and future supply of young engineering talent. Prior to joining ECITB, Jenny led the Governmentt-funded Diversity & Inclusion programme at the Royal Academy of Engineering for 7 years, working with many employers and the engineering profession to encourage skills from all demographic backgrounds.
Jenny is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the IET and of the RSA. She also sits on the Industry/Advisory Boards for the South East STEM Learning region (HUBSEE), the new EDGE Hub engineering centre being established by Canterbury Christ Church University and the UCL/Institute of Education Centre for Engineering Education.View all Advisors>
